Investec Asset Management has strengthened the firm’s China equity investment team with the appointment of Amy Leung.

With a dedicated focus on China, Leung joins the growing team of Asia, China and EM specialists within the Investec 4Factor Global Equity capability. Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Greg Kuhnert, Portfolio Manager of the Investec All China and Asian Equity strategies, and co-Head of 4Factor Equities.

Leung’s appointment adds further breadth to the team’s specialist expertise across the China investment universe, which comprises both onshore and offshore equity and fixed income solutions tailored to the needs of investors wishing to access the growing opportunities represented by the second largest stock market in the world. Leung’s career spans a decade of experience covering Asia Pacific ex-Japan equities, including the China H- and A-share market.

Greg Kuhnert, Portfolio manager and co-Head of 4Factor Global Equity, says: ‘Amy’s hire is part of the 4Factor team’s continuing investment in our Chinese equity capability, driven by the opening of Chinese capital markets to the world. Her appointment will add valuable specialist expertise to our established Asian equity capabilities and support the growth of our dedicated All China strategy which we launched five years ago to meet the growing demands of our clients for access to the investment opportunity represented by China.’
