Lombard International, a global leader in insurance-based wealth structuring solutions for high net worth individuals, families and institutions, has announced that Florent Albert has been promoted to Global Chief Financial Officer and that Rui Pinto has joined the business as Chief Financial Officer for Europe.

Albert will report directly to John Hillman, Group Chief Executive and Pinto will report to Axel Hörger, CEO Europe, as well as to Florent Albert.

Pinto’s appointment comes as Lombard International seeks to further consolidate its leading position in the European insurance-based wealth solutions market. Pinto will join the European leadership team and oversee all day-to-day financial operations of the European business, leading the financial reporting to management, shareholders and regulators while ensuring efficient risk control.

The appointment will allow Albert to focus on the firm’s global financial operations and growth plans.

Axel Hörger, CEO of Lombard International Assurance, says: “Rui brings a wealth of experience that will be vital to Lombard International Assurance as we continue to grow our presence across Europe. I welcome Rui and look forward to working with him as he joins our European leadership team.”

Florent Albert, Global CFO, adds: “A dedicated European Chief Financial Officer is fundamental to managing the complexities of a shifting regulatory landscape while meeting the highest reporting standards.  Rui is perfectly placed to help Lombard International Assurance navigate these challenges while we continue our growth in Europe.”

Pinto, European CFO of Lombard International Assurance, says: “Lombard International Assurance occupies a strong position in a rapidly changing industry. I am thrilled to be joining the company at such an exciting time.”

Pinto joined from iptiQ Life SA in Luxembourg, a Swiss-Re company, where he held the position of CFO. Prior to this he spent almost a decade with Swiss Life Global Solutions, most notably as Head of Finance. He began his career at PwC Luxembourg.
