Gresham House, a specialist alternative asset manager, has appointed Mike Woolley and Andy Gibb as Head of Wholesale Retail Funds and Sales Director, respectively.

Woolley joins from BNP Paribas Asset Management where he had been Head of External Distribution for the UK since February 2015. With two decades of sales and distribution experience in the UK, Mike was also Head of UK Sales at EFG Asset Management, and prior to that was at Neptune Investment Management, Prudential and Standard Life. He will be responsible for developing the Company’s wholesale distribution strategy, with a strong focus on growing the award-winning LF Gresham House UK Micro Cap and LF Gresham House UK Multi-Cap Income funds managed by Ken Wotton and Brendan Gulston.

With over fifteen years of fund management experience, Andy Gibb also joins from BNP Paribas Asset Management where he was responsible for UK business development. Prior to this, he was an Investment Sales Director at BNY Mellon, where he spent six years working closely with Wealth Managers, IFAs and Family Offices. Previously, he worked in Skandia Investment Management’s business development team, helping launch the Spectrum range of funds.

This announcement follows the appointments of Richard Staveley to the public equity team earlier this month and Catriona Buckley as Institutional Business Development Director in July to strengthen the team, led by Heather Fleming who joined in June 2018. Mike and Andy’s appointments are both effective as of 17 September 2019.

Rupert Robinson, Managing Director of Gresham House Asset Management, says: “We are very pleased to have secured candidates of Mike and Andy’s calibre. They bring a wealth of experience and contacts across key client channels and will help build on the progress made in the business over the last 18 months. Their appointments represent a major commitment by the group to strengthening our presence in this area by offering differentiated and high-performing specialist funds. I look forward to working with them both.”

Woolley adds: “I am very pleased to be joining Gresham House to help build on the Company’s impressive momentum and help drive business development. Gresham House’s specialist investment strategies are ideally placed to meet increasing investor demand. I look forward to contributing to deliver the next phase of growth of the Company, driving the distribution strategy to grow AUM in the wholesale market.”

Gibb adds: “I am excited to be joining Gresham House, one of the most rapidly growing firms in the alternatives space. I am sure that the remainder of 2019 and beginning of 2020 will be yet another successful period and am confident that I can make a substantial contribution to the Company’s continued success in the wholesale market.”
