Tribe Impact Capital (Tribe), a UK wealth manager dedicated to social, impact, and responsible investment, has appointed Alice Gaskell as an Investment Fellow on its advisory board.The former BlackRock equity portfolio manager and current Director of Strategy for Women in Banking & Finance joins Tribe to advise the investment and impact teams on how to optimise portfolio construction and guide the business as it continues its rapid growth.
Gaskell will regularly consult with Chief Investment Officer Fred Kooij and his team on the investment process, drawing on her experience in equities fund management to enhance Tribe’s equity screening, analysis and portfolio management. She will support the growth and development of Tribe’s business, with a focus on applying a gender lens to the investments business strategy to capture the innovation and resilience identified as measurable benefits of gender-diverse companies.
Gaskell joins the advisory board alongside current Investment Fellows, Tim Davey and Mark Campanele.
In her 24 years at BlackRock, Gaskell developed an industry leading expertise in European equities as part of a leadership team that built and led Blackrock’s Fundamental Active European Equity Team to over USD40 billion in assets. Through this work, she a gained a deep appreciation of the capacity of good corporate leaders to deliver better financial and social outcomes for all stakeholders. Gaskell left BlackRock in 2018 and since joined Women in Banking & Finance, UK Finance’s leading gender-focused network, to promote a new culture in financial services which can engage women as customers, entrepreneurs and employees.
