The CoinShares Group, a financial services firm specialising in digital assets, has appointed James Butterfill as Investment Strategist Consultant. Butterfill will bolster CoinShares Group’s Exchange Traded Product (ETP) business and research capabilities, primarily focusing on portfolio analysis to increase the adoption of digital assets by both intermediary and institutional clients across Europe.
The CoinShares ETP family, offered under the XBT Provider brand throughout Europe on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm, Nordic Growth Market and Boerse Stuttgart, are available to investors via their standard brokerage accounts.
Butterfill brings nearly two decades of experience in financial services to the CoinShares Group. Prior to joining CoinShares, Butterfill held several roles across top-tier asset management firms including Head of Equity Strategy at HSBC Private Bank, Investment Director and Fund Manager at Coutts, and Head of Research and Investment Strategy at ETF Securities. He will be based in the firm’s London office and report directly to Chief Revenue Officer Frank Spiteri.
Spiteri says: “James’s years of experience within the asset and wealth management industries will help drive the growth of our ETP business. We’re excited to welcome him to CoinShares during such a pivotal time for the firm as we look to engage with the growing number of investors interested in accessing digital assets.”
As CoinShares continues to see growth of investor interest in digital assets, the firm remains focused on providing sophisticated, fit-for-purpose products and services to its clients and partners. Following the expansion of the Group’s trading arm, the launch of the CoinShares Gold and Cryptoassets Index (CGCI), and the continued growth of the ETP business, the CoinShares team continues to pioneer innovative approaches to digital asset investing.
