Van Lanschot Kempen has appointed Erik van Houwelingen to its Executive Board effective 15 November. Van Houwelingen will be responsible for Asset Management, one of Van Lanschot Kempen’s core activities, and will also take on the chair of the Board of Kempen Capital Management, subject to regulatory approval. Van Houwelingen succeeds Leni Boeren, who stepped down earlier this year.
Karl Guha, Chairman, says: ‘We want to further develop our international asset manager activities and thereby creating long-term value for our clients. Erik’s knowledge of the sector, his international track record, strategic vision and leadership skills, makes him the right person to lead the next phase in this growth path. We are very pleased to have somebody of his caliber joining our team. We are confident he will make a great contribution to the development of our asset management offering and the execution of our integrated wealth management strategy.’
Van Houwelingen adds: ‘Van Lanschot Kempen is a firm with an excellent reputation and its asset management arm, Kempen Capital Management, has an outstanding track record as a professional services firm and asset manager. I am excited to join the firm, to be able to work with the dedicated professionals at Kempen Capital Management, to lead the organisation in these challenging times and work closely with my fellow Executive Board members to successfully implement the Van Lanschot Kempen growth strategy.’
Van Houwelingen (1965) will join from Dimensional Fund Advisors in London where he has been the Head of Client Group Europe, responsible for client and business development with a focus on continental markets.
