Quilter Investors appoints CEO and CIO

Bambos Hambi has joined Quilter Investors as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of the multi-asset investment business. Hambi brings a wealth of experience, including over 30 years in fund selection, joining from Aberdeen Standard Investments where he was Head of Multi-Manager Strategies and led one of largest fund selection teams in the UK. Prior to this he held various multi-manager roles at other firms, and during the early part of his career he spent a decade at Quilter.

Subject to regulatory approval, Hambi is replacing current Chief Executive and Head of Investments Paul Simpson, who is retiring in 2021.

Hambi’s appointment adds to Quilter Investors’ existing investment capability and follows other recent hires including Helen Bradshaw and Ian Jensen-Humphreys, further strengthening the investment team.

Hambi says: “It is great to finally have started at Quilter Investors and I am looking forward to hitting the ground running. The business is now well-established following its rebrand back in 2018 and I am eager to work with the investment team and the executive committee in driving it through its next phase of growth.”

Paul Feeney, Chief Executive at Quilter, adds: “We are thrilled to have Bambos join us here at Quilter and we are really excited for the future of Quilter Investors with him at the helm. Multi-asset solutions are an increasingly important part of advisers’ propositions for clients, particularly in these uncertain times. We look forward to working with Bambos and the investment team in continuing to deliver innovative and successful solutions to our clients.

“I would also like to thank Paul Simpson for his service to the company. He has been instrumental in getting Quilter Investors to the where it is today and I wish him all the best in his future retirement.”
