HANetf reaches USD900m AUM milestone


HANetf, Europe’s first ‘white label’ ETF issuer, has exceeded USD900 million as of 14 December 2020. 

This AUM milestone represents yet another achievement for the HANetf platform, which has increased its assets by over 12 fold since the beginning of the year.

The Emerging Markets Internet and Ecommerce UCITS ETF, the first ETF to list on HANetf’s white label platform in October 2018, has also reached USD200m AUM in December 2020. EMQQ recently won ‘Best Specialist ETF’ in Investment Week’s Specialist Investment Awards 2020.

Hector McNeil, Co-CEO of HANetf, says: “HANetf has had a terrific year so far and it’s not finished yet. We listed our first ETF, EMQQ, just over 2 years ago and the award by Investment Week is a massive validation of EMQQ as a truly unique ETF.  The judges selected EMQQ due to the fascinating theme of emerging market e-commerce combined with good principles surrounding the methodology. EMQQ has seen phenomenal growth this year of over 70% and remains the best performing EM ETF in the category.” 

McNeil continued “HANetf’s success this year has largely been due to developing innovative new ETFs and ETCs that are capturing the interest and imagination of European investors.  This year we have brought seven new products to market including the world’s first carbon avoidance solutions ETF which is the first of many ESG ETFs that we plan to have on the HANetf platform. 

Other new funds this year have included a landmark gold ETC with The Royal Mint, the only gold ETC in Europe to custody gold at a Sovereign Mint and not at a bank, the world’s first central counterparty cleared, exchange traded Bitcoin product, and a host of modern thematic ETFs that include medical cannabis,
