Farrer & Co adds to Contentious Trusts and Estates team

Independent law firm Farrer & Co, has added Henrietta Mason, a specialist in trust and probate disputes and former partner at Penningtons Manches Cooper, to the firm’s Contentious Trusts and Estates team.

Mason joins as a Consultant and will be leading on the team’s internal and external technical knowledge and development needs and its strategic vision for the future.
As co-author of the leading legal textbook on Wills and Probate “Probate Disputes and Remedies”, Mason has developed a formidable reputation as a go-to expert in this field. She has also built a widespread network of contacts, in part thanks to her participation on the Law Society Wills & Equity Committee and as an active member of AIJA, the International Association of Young Lawyers.
Toby Graham, Partner and Head of Farrer & Co’s Contentious Trusts and Estates team, says: “Success in the Contentious Trusts and Estates team depends on technical knowledge and practical experience. We have always attached importance to the team’s technical needs. This has also served as a vehicle for business development activity. The growth in the team and the increasing complexity of cases we handle made it necessary to appoint a lawyer dedicated to the technical expertise within the team and developing this in tandem with our growth strategy.  We are extremely fortunate to have found Henrietta. She has a stellar track record and we are delighted to have someone of her calibre and reputation in our ranks.”
Mason adds: “I am really excited to join a team that regularly features in some of the largest trust and estate disputes, both in the UK and internationally. With regard to international work, I have strength in multiple cross-border issues, so it’s particularly appealing to be part of a firm that is expanding its international capabilities. I look forward to helping Farrer & Co build further on its domestic and international reputation to enhance its pre-eminence in this field.”
Henrietta began her legal career at Withers. She later joined Penningtons Manches Cooper, where she has been a partner since 2018. Henrietta is regularly cited in both the Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 directories.
