ChinaAMC to use Hang Seng Internet & Information Technology Index as basis for ETF

Hang Seng Indexes Company has licensed the Hang Seng Internet & Information Technology Index to China Asset Management Co (ChinaAMC) to serve as the underlying index for the creation of an exchange-traded fund (ETF). 

The ChinaAMC Hang Seng Internet & Information Technology ETF was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on 8 February 2021 with an AUM of RMB7.6 billion as of 20 January 2021.

The Hang Seng Internet & Information Technology Index aims to reflect the overall performance of stocks listed in Hong Kong that are related to internet and information technology businesses.

The new ETF will bring the number of exchange-traded products linked to indexes in the Hang Seng Family of Indexes to 90 – with listings on 17 different stock exchanges across the world. As at the end of January 2021, assets under management in products passively tracking indexes in the Hang Seng Family of Indexes had reached a total of about USD38.7 billion.
