Carey Olsen appoints new family law consultant

Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has appointed Suzanne Kingston as a consultant, adding to its family law offering.

Kingston, who has more than 30 years’ experience as a family lawyer, advises and supports clients on a wide range of issues, including complex financial matters, children arrangements following separation or divorce, prenuptial agreements and cohabitation cases. She has spearheaded family law arbitration in England and Wales, having taught all of the family law arbitrators.

Kingston has a renowned international practice and has won numerous awards including Spears family lawyer of the year in 2015. She was most recently ranked as a Band 1 practitioner in the 2020 edition of Chambers High Net Worth.

Formerly a partner at Withers and currently a consultant for Mills & Reeve, Kingston will continue to be based in London and work closely with Carey Olsen lawyers as an adviser to the firm’s growing family law practice.

Carey Olsen partner Marcus Pallot, a member of the firm’s dispute resolution and litigation practice in Jersey, says: “Suzanne is a very experienced and highly regarded family lawyer and someone who has established herself as one of the leading mediators and arbitrators practising matrimonial and family law in the UK. Her knowledge, insight and all-round expertise related to the family law arena will be a tremendous asset to our teams, and we are delighted she has agreed to join Carey Olsen.”

Kingston says: “Carey Olsen has a well-established family law practice, which is highly regarded in the market. It is an exciting time to join the firm and I am looking forward to working with Carey Olsen’s family law teams.”
