Quilter Investors appoints RWC as manager of Global Equity Value Fund

Quilter Investors has appointed RWC Asset Management (RWC) as manager of the Quilter Investors Global Equity Value Fund.

As a result of the change in investment adviser, lead manager Nick Clay and his team will resume management of the fund following his move to RWC from BNY Mellon/Newton. Clay previously managed the fund during his time at BNY Mellon, and as a result of the change customers will once again benefit from the expertise offered by him and the team.
The fund will follow the same investment philosophy implemented by the RWC Global Income Fund and will see Andrew MacKirdy serve as co-portfolio manager and Robert Canepa-Anson and Colin Rutter will work as analysts for the fund.
RWC will seek to invest in companies trading at attractive valuations and typically paying a sustainable dividend above the broader market at the point of purchase.
The move also sees RWC become a ‘Global Partner’, a select group of high-quality asset managers appointed by Quilter Investors to offer a broad range of strategies across different asset classes, sectors and geographies. The fund features in the Old Mutual Wealth managed portfolio service, WealthSelect, run by Stuart Clark.
Stuart Clark, Quilter Investors and WealthSelect portfolio manager, says: “We have known and worked with Nick and his team for a number of years and have a high conviction in their abilities and investment philosophy. We have been impressed by their start at RWC and are delighted to welcome the team back. We are also excited to work closely with RWC who have the right tools and structure in place to help us provide strong returns and diversification to investors.
“As is the case with all our Global Partners, this fund allows us to give investors a range of insights and a consistent investment journey over the long-term.”
Gary Tuffield, Head of European Distribution at RWC, adds: “Being awarded this mandate is a great achievement for Nick Clay and his team, not least because of the rigorous research process Quilter Investors undergoes before partnering with new managers. At RWC, our mission has been to build an organisation that is multi-generational and whose longevity matches the duration over which our clients want us to manage money for them. We look forward to working closely with Quilter Investors and delivering for them and for their clients.”
