Capital Group strengthens UK sales team

Capital Group, one of the largest and investment companies in the world with assets under management of GBP1.7 trillion, has expanded its UK financial intermediaries team with the addition of Tri Huynh, Managing Director, Financial Intermediaries.

Huynh joins from Artemis Investment Management where he was Head of Strategic Partnerships. With over 15 years’ experience in intermediary sales, Tri will play a key part in strengthening existing client relationships while developing new strategic alliances with financial intermediaries in the UK. Based in London, he will report to Chris Miles, Head of Financial Intermediaries, UK.
This appointment follows Capital Group’s recent announcement of its intention to launch a range of OEICs in the UK to better support the intermediary market. Subject to approval by the Financial Conduct Authority, the range will comprise active, long-only equity and fixed income fund strategies. Huynh’s hire also follows that of John Griffiths in the newly created position of Head of UK Client Group, and Allyson Foster as UK Head of Marketing – both announced earlier in the year.
Chris Miles, Head of Financial Intermediaries UK at Capital Group, says: “Over the last few years, we have been focused on steadily broadening our range of investment services in the UK to meet growing client demand.
“With his expertise in the UK market, Tri will be instrumental in ensuring that Capital Group’s investment capabilities are readily accessible to UK intermediaries and their clients. We are delighted to welcome Tri on board.”
Huynh adds: “I am thrilled to join a company with such a distinct investment process and strong track record. This is a very exciting time for the firm, and I look forward to supporting financial intermediaries in helping their clients achieve their investment goals.”
With operations in the UK for more than 40 years, London is Capital Group’s second largest investment office globally and currently has 31 Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS funds available to UK investors. Capital Group employs approximately 450 associates in the UK,including 70 investment professionals, across a range of functions. Recently, Broadridge’s independent panel of fund selectors voted Capital Group as the fourth strongest fund management brand globally.
