Farrer & Co announces dispute resolution partner

Law firm Farrer & Co has appointed Gerard Heyes to join the firm today (24 May 2021) as a partner in the Disputes Resolution team.

Heyes specialises in financial services litigation, disputes and investigations and in managing contentious risk. He joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he was a managing associate in the London office.

Siobhan Jones, Head of Disputes Resolution at Farrer & Co, says: “Gerard has great experience in a field that we see as strategically important to us. His appointment will add further strength and depth to our existing contentious financial services and regulatory expertise. We look forward to integrating Gerard into the firm and him adding to our client base in the sector.”

Grania Baird, Head of Financial Services Regulatory and Funds at Farrer & Co, adds: “We are very pleased to welcome Gerard Heyes as a new partner in our Financial Services practice. Gerard’s expertise and experience in relation to contentious issues and regulatory investigations will significantly strengthen the support we can provide to clients in these areas.”

Heyes says: “I am delighted to join Farrer & Co. The firm’s reputation for world-class disputes services in the domestic and international markets, and breadth of offering across the private wealth and asset management sectors, provide a great opportunity for me to further develop my practice.”

Heyes’ arrival follows the firm’s announcement of nine internal partner promotions in May.
