Independent Wealth Planners (IWP), a nationwide group of independent financial advisers, has strengthened its senior management team with two new appointments.
To support its ambitious growth aspirations, which includes the acquisition of 24 independent financial advice firms in the past two years, the Group has hired Lucy Ewings as group finance director, while Tony Bullock joins as IWP’s head of compliance.
A chartered accountant by trade, Ewings’ career stretches back three decades, initially training at global consultancy KPMG before holding finance director positions at various companies including most recently Succession Wealth. Ewings will lead IWP’s finance function, providing expert financial support and insight, as the Group grows.
Bullock has held senior compliance roles in some of the UK’s leading financial services firms, including Chase de Vere and Succession Wealth. He is responsible for the management of regulatory risk and compliance arrangements within IWP authorised firms, as well as the design and implementation of suitable compliance arrangements to ensure the regulated entities comply within the applicable regulatory environment.
Ewings says: “IWP’s dynamic and inclusive culture shone through during the recruitment process, which explains why its growth and rate of acquisitions has been so impressive. I’m excited to be given the opportunity to contribute to its continued success.”
Bullock says: “I was incredibly impressed with what IWP has achieved in such a short space of time – its approach is genuinely different to other acquiring firms. The chance to develop the compliance department and work with some incredible leaders during a time of rapid change were key reasons behind my decision to join.”
