Global X’s European Thematic UCITS Report for August 2021 from Morgane Delledonne, Director of Research, finds that UCITS Thematic ETFs recorded USD559 million of net inflows, after attracting USD795 million in July.
Delledonne reports that connectivity themes attracted the largest net inflows again this month with USD216 million, with the bulk of net new inflows going into emerging market internet themes (USD147 million) as investors likely see buying opportunities in Asian assets amid regulatory-led selloff
Climate change related themes also recorded strong net inflows on the month (USD179 million). In August, the US House of Representatives approved the USD3.5 trillion budget resolution, providing tailwind to themes such US Infrastructure Development, Clean Water, CleanTech, Clean Energy, Autonomous & Electric Vehicles, Hydrogen, and more.
Delledonne reports that robotics saw significant net outflows of USD109 million this month, suggesting investors took profits similarly as they did in March this year.
