Digital ETP issuer Valour has hired Frances Edwards to the role of Chief Operating Officer as the company continues to expand its team and product offering.
Edwards joins from Blackrock iShares where she held leadership roles across COO and product development functions. The firm writes that this milestone follows Valour’s exponential growth since its launch last December, with AUM currently at over USD200 million.
Edwards brings circa 20 years’ cross-functional experience spanning operations, product development and sales with a specialism in ETPs, including notes, certificates and funds across asset classes. Prior to joining iShares, she was Director of Product Origination at Lloyds and, prior to that, Head of Retail Product Structuring at Barclays.
Edwards will work closely alongside CEO Diana Biggs and the management team to lead Valour’s next phase of growth, as the company begins its international expansion beyond the Nordics, starting with additional European markets, the firm writes.
“It’s extremely exciting to have Frances join our growing team at Valour”, says Diana Biggs. “With her deep experience across key areas including strategic business planning, industry engagement, product, risk management and governance in some of the world’s largest wealth management firms, Frances is the ideal person to help drive growth and further strengthen our mission to provide the most accessible digital asset investment products on the market.”
The firm writes that since launch in December 2020, Valour has grown to over USD200 million in AUM, marking an exceptional first nine months of 2021 which saw AUM leap more than 2000 per cent. The firm says that growth has been a result of tremendous investor demand for exposure to digital assets, via financial products which make accessing one of the best performing asset classes of the last decade secure, transparent and straightforward.
