Lyxor ETF crosses EUR100bn milestone in assets under management

Lyxor Asset Management has crossed the EUR100 billion of assets under management threshold in ETFs, thanks, the firm says, to dynamic asset gathering in some of the market’s most buoyant segments, which were also identified as key priorities in Lyxor ETF’s strategic roadmap for 2021.

The firm writes that this symbolic threshold has been surpassed thanks to brisk asset raising of EUR7.6 billion so far this year, principally on climate and thematic ETF indexations, which are currently at the top of investors’ minds as they allow them to transition their portfolios to a low carbon footprint, while capturing new economic and societal trends emerging in the post-Covid world.

Lyxor ETF raised EUR1.7 billion in Article 9 Climate ETFs, making it the number one ETF provider on this segment in terms of inflows (24 per cent of all inflows in Europe), the firm says, with assets under management and market share, respectively at EUR3.2 billion and 26 per cent. Still a nascent market benefiting from strong investor appetite, the Article 9 ETF segment has witnessed spectacular expansion of more than 260 per cent in 2021, Lyxor says.

Lyxor has also experienced robust momentum in the fast-growing thematic ETFs space (+50 per cent in 2021), collecting EUR1.2 billion of new assets and ranking number two in terms of inflows (9.2 per cent of all inflows), AUM (EUR 4.4 billion) and market share (9.3 per cent. Dynamism in Climate and thematic ETFs came on top of Lyxor’s continued strong showing in Core ETFs (+ EUR2.2 billion NNA), a cornerstone of the firm’s offering and a key tool for investors looking to manage their portfolios efficiently, the firm writes.

Finally, of note is also Lyxor’s strength in inflation ETFs, a segment it pioneered in 2016 and on which it has raised nearly EUR1.9 billion this year, the firm says, establishing itself as number two in Europe.

“By achieving this significant milestone, Lyxor has not only delivered on its strategic roadmap but also positioned itself as the ETF provider of reference on key ETF segments which will drive future industry growth. These results encourage us to continue our efforts to develop our thematic, low cost and climate-focused product offering to match retail, wealth and institutional investors demand,” says Arnaud Llinas, Head of ETFs and Indexing at Lyxor Asset Management.
