The ETF industry in the US ended 2021 with record high assets of USD7.21 trillion and record net inflows of USD919.78 billion, according to ETF data providers ETFGI.
ETFs and ETPs listed in US gained net inflows of USD116.38 billion during December, bringing year-to-date net inflows to a record USD919.78 billion.
Assets invested in the US ETFs/ETPs industry increased by 3.5 per cent in December and 31.9 per cent during 2021.
The 28th month of consecutive net inflows in the US saw a record inflow for equity ETFs, with USD641.48 billion in net inflows over 2021, and the top three providers, accounting for 78.5 per cent of assets were iShares with USD2.466 trillion and a 34.2 per cent market share; Vanguard with USD2.08 trillion and a 28.8 per cent market share, followed by SPDR ETFs with USD1.11 trillion and a 15.4 per cent market share.
The top three for net inflows in 2021 were Vanguard with USD327.85 billion, iShares with USD212.68 billion and SPDR ETFs with USD97.53 billion.
