ETFs globally ended 2021 with a record USD10.27 trillion in assets and record net inflows of USD1.29 trillion according to ETF data providers ETFGI.
During December the industry gathered net inflows of USD154.97 billion, bringing 2021 net inflows to a record USD1.29 trillion which is higher than the USD762.77 billion gathered in 2020.
Assets invested in the global ETFs industry increased by 3.4 per cent in December and 28.5 per cent in 2021 after 31 months of consecutive net inflows.
The top three providers, out of 608, account for 65.7 per cent of the USD10.27 trillion of the global assets, and iShares is the largest provider in terms of assets with 32.3 per cent market share; Vanguard is second with 21.8 per cent, followed by SPDR ETFs with 11.7 per cent market share.
