ETF launches this week spread the globe again, with VTB Capital Investments launching a European equity ETF on the Moscow Exchange and Solactive reporting on Fubon Asset Management’s Metaverse ETF, launched on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Themes are still popular with HSBC launching a global semi-conductor ETF. Olga de Tapia, Global Head of ETF & Indexing Sales, HSBC AM, says: “Semiconductors are key for the future of many technology-based industries and are also expected to play an important role in the transition to net-zero through enabling clean technologies.”
A new issuer Strategas Asset Management has arrived on the ETF scene with two thematic funds – the Strategas Macro Thematic Opportunities ETF (NYSE Arca: SAMT), and the Strategas Global Policy Opportunities ETF (NYSE Arca: SAGP). “Investors have no shortage of choices when it comes single-theme ETFs, but to this point there has been a marked lack of approaches that leverage thematic rotation,” says Jason DeSena Trennert, Chairman and CIO with Strategas Asset Management and Lead Portfolio Manager for the Strategas Macro Thematic Opportunities ETF.
