US ETF assets saw USD80bn in inflows in February

ETF data provider ETFGI reports that the ETFs industry in the United States gathered net inflows of USD80 billion in February 2022, bringing year-to-date net inflows to USD99.04 billion. 

The firm reports that due to market declines in February the assets invested in the US ETFs/ETPs industry have decreased by 0.6 per cent, from USD6.88 trillion at the end of January, to USD6.84 trillion.
ETFGI reports that the ETF industry turned 32 on March 9, from its birth on the Toronto Stock Exchange when the 35 Index Participation Fund “TIPS” was listed in 1990.

The YTD net inflows of USD99.04 billion into US ETFs are the second highest on record, after YTD net inflows in 2021 of USD153.95 billion. In the 30th month of consecutive net inflows, the majority has gone into equities.
