Bloomberg leads in platform trading and data supply

Bloomberg LP | Best ETF Platform | Best ETF Data Vendor

“Winning ‘Best ETF Platform’ in both the US and Europe is a tremendous accomplishment.

It is also an incredible honour to receive the awards for ‘Best ETF Data Vendor’ in the US and ‘Best OTC/Dark Pool ETF Execution Venue’ in Europe. We are being recognised regionally and globally for the quality, depth, and breadth of our business,” says Paul Kaplan, Bloomberg’s Global Head of Credit, Equities, & Price Transparency.

“Clients continue to view Bloomberg as a trusted partner who delivers a seamless workflow, innovative ideas and products, and deep liquidity. We have always had meaningful presence in the ETF market, and these awards represent clients’ understanding of how far Bloomberg has come, and Bloomberg’s ability to lead into the future.”

RFQe, Bloomberg’s ETF trading solution, is operated globally by Bloomberg affiliates across the US, Europe, and APAC. “Clients rely on Bloomberg’s depth of liquidity, with more than 100+ ETF liquidity providers.” Kaplan says. “Buy and sell-side clients look to Bloomberg for a comprehensive ETF solution that effectively utilises our data, pre and post-trade analytics, news, and communication tools across the depth and breadth of our asset classes.”

Kaplan notes that clients appreciate that Bloomberg continues to listen to their needs and works to find creative solutions such as innovations in list trading, and to create new products, such as the Tradable Trackers, with collaboration between Bloomberg’s Electronic Trading and Index businesses.”

“Clients look to Bloomberg to assist with their entire workflow, including providing the necessary tools to react quickly in volatile market conditions. Bloomberg’s complete solution makes it easy to execute in the secondary ETF market, create and redeem, and transact via portfolio trading. Clients can access a robust Cash Index offering on Bloomberg, which can assist with their evaluation of the best avenues to express their macro views.”

In terms of data, Kaplan notes that clients look to Bloomberg’s robust pre and post-trade data and analytics to help them make informed trading decisions. Kaplan says, “We have incorporated these data points into various trading and automation tools to support clients’ best execution strategies, including how and where to source the appropriate liquidity.”

He notes that many buy and sell-side clients are combining their ETF and fixed income cash businesses to provide better liquidity for macro strategies. “It makes sense that we should do the same and continue to work with our clients to find efficiencies and to develop holistic solutions.”
