There was a broad range of ETF launches during the holiday season, with themes and factors well represented.
A lot of the launches were more defensive, with Pacer ETF expanding its Cash Cow series with a US large-cap ETF and CI Global Asset Management announcing the planned launch of global and US ETFs focused on managing downside volatility.
Themes, including Space – hotly tipped to be a star sector this year (every pun intended) – from Gabelli Funds with its Aerospace and Defense ETF, and there was a nod to the success of managed futures over 2022, with the launch of an actively managed commodity strategy ETF from Van Eck.
