Amundi reports that global ETFs markets gained EUR62.3 billion in January with investors favouring fixed income slightly more than equity, gaining EUR32.4 billion and EUR28.6 billion respectively. The US ETF market collected EUR41.5 billion while European UCITS ETF attracted EUR18.5 billion of net new assets. The Asian ETF market was slightly positive, the firm says.
European UCITS equity ETFs collected EUR9.7 billion in January with EM equity ETFs being the most popular strategy with inflows of EUR4.6 billion. Equity ESG continued its positive trend gaining EUR3.3 billion in January, Amundi writes.
Investors allocated EUR8.9 billion to European UCITS fixed income ETFs with Investment Grade corporate debt ETFs gaining EUR4.9 billion while government bonds ETFs attracted EUR2.9 billion. Investors allocated EUR2.1 billion to ESG fixed income strategies, the firm writes.
