This week saw a new investment manager, Investlinx, launch two active ETFs on the Italian stock exchange and European white labeller, HANetf, team up with Algo-Chain, to launch six free to licence ETF model portfolios, aimed at wealth managers and financial advisers keen to use ETFs.
There were also two energy-based launches with VanEck Europe launching an ETF based on MarketVector Indexes’ Global Uranium and Nuclear Energy Infrastructure Index. Martijn Rozemuller, CEO at VanEck Europe, says: “Due to recent geopolitical developments and the debate on European energy independence, nuclear power as an energy source and uranium as a raw material are becoming increasingly important.”
In the US, REX Shares launched its latest set of short and leveraged energy ETNs, this time working with Solactive which has issued the Solactive MicroSectors Energy Index.
Solactive writes that Oil & Gas are the main ingredients of a great variety of industrial products. “Recently, demand and supply for these commodities as well as their prices have been rising in volatility on a global basis, especially due to market concerns about energy shortages, Covid-19 restrictions in China, and a recession in the horizon.,” the firm says. “However, the restraints of Russian oil by the European Union, China’s reopening, and the prospect of a change in the Fed monetary policy can establish a different scenario for these commodities’ prices.”
Our final launch this week is the Calamos Antetokounmpo Global Sustainable Equities ETF, SROI, which sees Calamos in partnership with NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The ETF seeks to donate a portion of its profits to charities, as determined by its Board of Directors. The Board aims to review and consider charities in areas such as economic empowerment, financial education, and the development of young people in underserved communities.
