Canada ETF Launches for March 2023

RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) was the only firm to launch new ETF offerings in March 2023. The firm launched the ETF Series for eight existing mutual fund mandates on the NEO Exchange.

RBC Canadian Equity Income Fund (Ticker: RCEI) aims to provide a high level of monthly cash flow. The ETF invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of Canadian securities, including, but not limited to, common and preferred shares of Canadian companies that pay dividends, real estate investment trusts, and income trusts. The ETF may also invest in fixed‑income securities, such as government and corporate bonds, debentures, and notes.

The RBC North American Value Fund (Ticker: RNAV) and RBC North American Growth Fund (Ticker: RNAG) both aim to provide long-term capital growth. The investment process for these ETFs will primarily be based on fundamental research, although the portfolio manager will also consider quantitative and technical factors. Stock selection decisions are ultimately based on an understanding of the company, its business, and its outlook. These ETFs will invest in equity securities of Canadian and/or U.S. companies priced below their true value and offering long‑term opportunities for growth.

RBC International Equity Fund (Ticker: RINT) will invest primarily in equity securities of companies outside of North America. The ETF provides exposure to economies that offer different business cycles and growth opportunities than North American markets.

RBC Emerging Markets Dividend Fund (Ticker: REMD) aims to provide long‑term total returns consisting of dividend income and capital growth. The ETF invests primarily in equity securities of companies located or active in emerging markets with above average dividend yields.

RBC Global Precious Metals Fund (Ticker: RGPM) will invest primarily in equity securities of companies throughout the world involved directly or indirectly in the exploration, mining and production of precious metals (gold, silver and platinum) and in bullion, coins, receipts and certificates. The ETF may invest up to 20% of its assets in silver and platinum.

RBC Global Energy Fund (Ticker: RENG) will invest in equity securities of companies throughout the world involved directly or indirectly in the exploration, development, production or distribution of energy and energy‑related products, or in activities in the Energy sector.

RBC Global Technology Fund (Ticker: RTEC) will invest in equity securities of companies around the world in the Information Technology and/or Communication Services sectors. The ETF will invest in companies developing or marketing technology and telecommunications products and services. This includes companies that provide services to technology or telecommunications firms or those that may benefit from developments in the Information Technology and Communication Services sectors and their evolution.
