One new ETF offering was launched for the week, each with a distinct value proposition for investors. Detailed below are the respective launches from each asset manager.
Global X ETFs launched the Global X Carbon Credits Strategy ETF. The ETF targets carbon futures across different geographies, with the aim of capping emissions in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement. The fund will use an index replication approach, aiming to correspond with the ICE Global Carbon Futures Index.
The ETF will provide exposure to multiple emissions trading schemes globally by investing in the most actively traded carbon credit futures and takes long positions in futures that require “physical delivery” of emission allowances issued under “cap and trade” regimes.
