A summary of the Canadian ETF launches that occurred in August 2023.

Invesco Canada launched three ETFs, the Invesco Russell 1000 Dynamic-Multifactor Index ETF (Tickers: IUMF / IUMF.F), Invesco International Developed Dynamic-Multifactor Index ETF (Tickers: IIMF / IIMF.F), and Invesco Morningstar Global Energy Transition Index ETF (Tickers: IGET / IGET.F).

The Invesco Russell 1000 Dynamic-Multifactor Index ETF is based on the Russell 1000 Invesco Dynamic Multifactor Index, which is constructed using a rules-based approach that re-weights large-cap securities of the Russell 1000 Index according to economic cycles and market conditions, reflected by expansion, slowdown, contraction or recovery. The securities are assigned a multi-factor score from one of five investment factors: Value, Momentum, Quality, Low Volatility or Size.

The Invesco International Developed Dynamic-Multifactor Index ETF will track the FTSE Developed ex US Dynamic Multifactor Index, which reflects a dynamic combination of factor exposures drawn from constituent stocks of the FTSE Developed ex US Index. The ETF then reweights the stocks based upon economic environment and overall market conditions.

The Invesco Morningstar Global Energy Transition Index ETF is based on the Morningstar Global Energy Transition Index. The ETF is designed as a thematic solution that targets companies anywhere in the world that Morningstar’s independent equity research team believe are best positioned to benefit from the energy transition megatrend.

Forstrong Global Asset Management launches four inaugural ETFs, Forstrong Global Ex-North America Equity ETF (Ticker: FINE), Forstrong Emerging Markets Equity ETF (Ticker: FEME), Forstrong Global Income ETF (Ticker FINC), and Forstrong Global Growth ETF (Ticker: FGRW).

The Forstrong Global Ex-North America Equity ETF uses a top-down equity strategy to identify changes in country fundamentals, politics or regulations, currency trends, investor settlements or a combination of these factors, and is designed to complement traditional bottom-up North America focused portfolios.

The Forstrong Emerging Markets Equity ETF uses a targeted approach to identifying emerging countries with an attractive combination of demographics, policy, earnings’ trends and political stability.

The Forstrong Global Income ETF is intended for investors seeking to grow their capital over the long-term with an emphasis on receiving income, while providing better diversification characteristics than portfolios that are focused exclusively on North America.

The Forstrong Global Growth ETF is intended for investors seeking to grow their capital over the long-term while receiving modest income and providing them access to growing regions of the world.

AGF Investments launched the AGF Enhanced U.S. Equity Income ETF (Ticker: AENU), which provides exposure to a diversified portfolio of dividend-paying U.S. equity securities combined with an actively managed option writing strategy that seeks to provide enhanced income potential and mitigate volatility.

Horizons finalises changes to asset-allocation ETFs. Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. has made a number of changes to its suite of total return index (TRI) asset-allocation ETFs, which now have new names, fees, and investment objectives.

As of Aug. 25, the Horizons Conservative TRI ETF Portfolio is now called the Horizons Conservative Asset Allocation ETF (Ticker: HCON). The Horizons Balanced TRI ETF Portfolio is now the Horizons Balanced Asset Allocation ETF (Ticker: HBAL) and the Horizons Growth TRI ETF Portfolio (Ticker: HGRO) is now the Horizons All-Equity Asset Allocation ETF, with a new ticker (Ticker: HEQT).

The Horizons Conservative Asset Allocation ETF seeks to provide a combination of income and moderate long-term capital growth, primarily by investing in exchange traded funds that provide exposure to a globally diversified portfolio of fixed income and equity securities.

The Horizons Balanced Asset Allocation ETF seeks to provide a combination of long-term capital growth and a moderate level of income, primarily by investing in exchange traded funds that provide exposure to a globally diversified portfolio of equity and fixed income securities.
