Detlef Glow, Head of Lipper EMEA Research, LSEG, writes that July 2024 was another month with strong inflows for the European ETF industry.
“These inflows occurred in a positive market environment. Nevertheless, equity markets looked somewhat vulnerable given the high valuations of the market leaders. With regard to this, it is not surprising that investors are nervous and reacting quite fast on any news that may impact the current market environment negatively.”
ETF promoters in Europe enjoyed estimated net inflows (+EUR20.9 billion) for July 2024.
Assets under management in the European ETF industry reached a new all-time high at the end of July (EUR1,850.2 billion).
Equity ETFs (+EUR11.2 billion) posted the highest estimated net inflows in the European ETF industry for July.
The best-selling Lipper global classification for July was Equity U.S. (+EUR4.6 billion), followed by Equity Global (+EUR3.8 billion) and Money Market USD (+EUR1.6 billion).
iShares was the best-selling ETF promoter in Europe for July (+EUR7.4 billion), ahead of Amundi ETF (+EUR3.9 billion) and Vanguard (+EUR2.3 billion).
The 10 best-selling ETFs gathered estimated net inflows of EUR6.9 billion for July.
The best-selling ETF for July, iShares S&P 500 Swap UCITS ETF USD (Acc), enjoyed estimated net inflows of EUR1.0 billion.
