Amundi’s latest ETF flows report covering to the end of October 2024 finds that global ETF inflows in October were EUR150.7 billion with investors allocating EUR102.8 billion to equities and EUR36.7 billion to fixed income.
That preference for equities was prevalent across all regions with this asset class gaining EUR78 billion in the US, EUR21.8 in Europe and the Middle East, and EUR3 billion in the Asia-Pacific region.
In North America, large blend – US indices – gained EUR39.8 billion and in Europe investors added EUR8.8 billion to the same product category. Investors also added EUR8.8 billion to Chinese equities with investors reacting positively to that government’s stimulus package.
Investors withdrew EUR1.4 billion from both short government bonds and European corporate bond strategies.
October was the best month for the last five years for European UCITS ETFs as investors allotted a total of EUR28.9 billion to these strategies.
