European ETF Market Wrap: Flows, Performance and Leaders | Week 11, 2026

Here’s a recap of European ETF action between 9 March and 13 March, from our data partners, Trackinsight, highlighting how capital moved and performance varied across asset classes, regions, and themes.

According to data by Trackinsight, Equity ETFs gathered EUR 642.55 million during the week, representing the largest inflow among the asset classes listed.

Commodity ETFs added EUR 116.80 million over the same period. In contrast, Fixed Income ETFs recorded EUR 148.92 million in net outflows.

Other segments also saw withdrawals, with Currency ETFs declining by EUR 37.02 million, Volatility ETFs by EUR 7.01 million, Cryptocurrency ETFs by EUR 3.93 million, and Multi-Asset ETFs by EUR 0.67 million.

Sector ETF Flows: Industrials and Technology Lead Sector Inflows as Financials See Heavy Outflows

Industrials led sector inflows with EUR 192.78 million, followed closely by Information Technology at EUR 185.45 million.

Energy products gathered EUR 163.88 million, while Utilities recorded EUR 132.60 million in inflows. Real Estate exposures added EUR 45.61 million.

On the negative side, Financials recorded the largest sector withdrawal at EUR 2.03 billion. Materials experienced EUR 283.15 million in outflows, followed by Health Care at EUR 106.99 million, Consumer Staples at EUR 77.85 million, and Consumer Discretionary at EUR 49.87 million.

Communication Services registered a smaller decline of EUR 2.21 million.

Sector ETF Performance: Global and Eurozone ETFs Drive Inflows Amid U.S. and DM Outflows

Energy posted the strongest sector return, rising 4.55% over the period. Utilities followed with a gain of 2.91%. Materials recorded the weakest performance among the sectors listed, declining 4.41%.

Geographic Equity ETF Flows: Turkey Leads Country Gains While UAE and Indonesia Lag

Geographic allocations in equity ETFs were led by global and European exposures. World-focused ETFs recorded the largest inflow at EUR 2.50 billion.

Eurozone mandates gathered EUR 1.02 billion, while Switzerland-focused ETFs added EUR 834.38 million.

North America exposures attracted EUR 205.26 million, and Latin America recorded EUR 42.67 million in inflows. In contrast, several geographic segments saw withdrawals.

Developed Markets ETFs declined by EUR 1.22 billion, while United States exposures recorded EUR 1.00 billion in outflows.

China-focused ETFs fell by EUR 405.50 million, Germany by EUR 386.24 million, and India by EUR 101.55 million.

Geographic Equity ETF Performance: Turkey Leads Country Gains While UAE and Indonesia Lag

Turkey recorded the strongest gain at 3.25%, followed by Kazakhstan at 2.80% and Romania at 2.63%.

On the downside, UAE posted the largest decline at -5.68%. Indonesia fell -4.49%, India declined -3.96%, the Philippines dropped -3.36%, and the Czech Republic decreased -3.03%.

Thematic ETF Flows: Defense and Infrastructure Themes Attract Capital While Climate Strategies See Outflows

Europe Defense recorded the largest thematic inflow at EUR 180.99 million, followed by Global Defense with EUR 87.98 million.

Green Projects gathered EUR 45.65 million, and Global Infrastructure added EUR 43.54 million.

On the negative side, Climate Action experienced EUR 145.73 million in outflows, while Natural Resources declined by EUR 131.71 million.

Multiple Trends strategies also recorded withdrawals of EUR 73.29 million.

Thematic ETF Performance: Emerging Markets Awakening and Crypto Themes Lead Gains

Emerging Markets Awakening posted the strongest return at 7.22%, closely followed by Cryptocurrency at 7.19%. Alternative Energy advanced 5.31%, while Solar Energy rose 5.18%. In contrast, BioTech & Genomics declined -3.79%, Asia Defense fell -3.66%, and FinTech decreased -2.89%.

Fixed Income ETF Flows: Investment Grade Bonds Attract Inflows as Government and High Yield See Withdrawals

Government Investment Grade ETFs gathered EUR 458.95 million, representing the largest inflow among the categories listed. Corporate Investment Grade strategies followed with EUR 365.60 million, while Supranational Investment Grade ETFs recorded EUR 28.37 million in inflows.

In contrast, Aggregate Investment Grade ETFs saw EUR 56.46 million in outflows. Larger withdrawals were observed in Corporate High Yield ETFs, which declined by EUR 328.39 million, and Government Aggregate exposures, which recorded the largest outflow at EUR 1.03 billion.

Commodity ETP Flows: Gold and Broad Commodities Gain While Oil Sees Heavy Outflows

Gold ETFs gathered EUR 244.98 million, representing the largest inflow within the commodity segment.

Multi Commodities strategies attracted EUR 157.08 million, followed by Agriculture with EUR 106.98 million and Copper with EUR 92.19 million.

On the negative side, Crude Oil ETFs recorded the largest outflow at EUR 385.00 million, while Silver ETFs declined by EUR 31.25 million.

Cryptocurrency ETP Flows: Bitcoin Attracts Inflows While XRP Records Outflows

Bitcoin ETFs recorded EUR 25.31 million in inflows over the period. In contrast, XRP products experienced EUR 46.83 million in outflows.
