Here’s a recap of European ETF action between July 27 and July 31, from our data partners, Trackinsight, highlighting how capital moved and performance varied across asset classes, regions, and themes.
According to data by Trackinsight, European-listed Equity ETFs attracted €6.62 billion during the week, representing the largest allocation across asset classes. Fixed Income ETFs gathered €1.85 billion, while Commodity ETPs added €474.6 million.
Multi-Asset products attracted €22.7 million while Cryptocurrency ETPs recorded outflows of €3.8 million.
Sector ETF Flows: Financials Leads Inflows
Financials ETFs attracted €296.9 million, the largest sector inflow of the week.
Information Technology gathered €199.5 million, while Industrials added €164.7 million. Health Care attracted €153.7 million, and Materials recorded inflows of €141.0 million.
Energy gathered €71.7 million, Real Estate added €36.1 million, and Utilities attracted €6.4 million.
Communication Services recorded the largest sector outflow at €32.8 million. Consumer Staples declined by €31.7 million, while Consumer Discretionary lost €26.3 million.
Sector ETF Performance: Consumer Discretionary Leads Gains
Consumer Discretionary delivered the strongest sector performance, advancing 4.94% during the week.
Financials gained 1.29%, while Communication Services rose 1.20%. Consumer Staples advanced 1.07%, and Industrials added 0.33%.
Energy declined 1.07%, while Health Care fell 1.08%. Real Estate lost 1.24%, and Materials declined 1.49%.
Information Technology fell 2.49%, while Utilities recorded the weakest sector performance with a decline of 4.16%.
Geographic Equity ETF Flows: Developed Markets Leads Allocations
Developed Markets ETFs attracted €1.85 billion, the largest geographic inflow of the week.
US-focused products gathered €1.68 billion, while World exposures added €1.46 billion. Europe-focused ETFs attracted €544.6 million, and Emerging Markets gathered €425.7 million.
Asia Pacific recorded inflows of €233.3 million, while North America added €216.4 million. Japan-focused ETFs attracted €166.1 million.
Greater China recorded the only highlighted geographic outflow, declining by €109.4 million.
Geographic Equity Performance: Greece Leads
Greece delivered the strongest highlighted geographic performance, advancing 3.32% during the week. Greater China gained 2.33%.
Turkey recorded the weakest highlighted performance, declining 4.83%.
Thematic ETF Flows: Net Zero 2050 Leads
Net Zero 2050 attracted €409.8 million, the largest thematic inflow of the week.
Alternative Energy gathered €73.3 million, while Robotics & Automation added €41.3 million. Global Defense attracted €39.0 million.
Cybersecurity recorded the largest thematic outflow at €151.1 million. China Disruptive Technology declined by €87.7 million, while Green Projects lost €55.1 million.
Thematic ETF Performance: Cloud Computing Leads Gains
Cloud Computing delivered the strongest thematic performance, advancing 7.22% during the week.
China Digitalization gained 5.97%, while Video Games & iGaming rose 5.14%. Emerging Markets Digitalization advanced 4.78%, and Emerging Markets Disruptive Technology gained 4.22%.
eCommerce rose 3.47%.
Asia Defense recorded the weakest highlighted performance, declining 5.33%. Solar Energy fell 5.18%, while Tomorrow’s Treatments lost 4.49%. Agribusiness declined 4.10%.
Fixed Income ETF Flows: Government Investment Grade Leads
Government Investment Grade ETFs attracted €819.7 million, the largest fixed income allocation of the week.
Corporate Investment Grade products gathered €386.3 million, while Aggregate Investment Grade ETFs added €291.1 million.
Corporate High Yield attracted €117.6 million, and Government High Yield gathered €8.3 million.
Government Aggregate products recorded outflows of €69.5 million.
Commodity ETP Flows: Gold Leads Inflows
Gold ETPs attracted €418.7 million, the largest commodity inflow of the week.
Multi Commodities gathered €147.9 million, while Silver added €13.4 million.
Crude Oil recorded outflows of €54.9 million. Copper declined by €19.4 million, while Agriculture lost €15.3 million.
Cryptocurrency ETP Flows: Ondo Leads Inflows
Ondo products attracted €5.6 million, the largest cryptocurrency inflow of the week.
Bitcoin gathered €2.4 million.
Solana recorded the largest highlighted cryptocurrency outflow at €3.9 million. Hyperliquid declined by €3.7 million, while XRP lost €1.2 million.
