Solactive writes that it has further expanded its collaboration with Global X ETFs, the ETF brand of Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong) Limited, through the launch of Global X Copper Miners ETF, tracking the Solactive Copper Miners Index.

The ETF provides investors with targeted exposure to global companies involved in the copper industry, Solactive writes.

Copper is a critical material underpinning several long-term global trends, including power grid expansion, electrification, renewable energy deployment, electric vehicles, digital infrastructure, and data centres. As investment in these areas continues to expand, copper’s role across a wide range of industrial and technological applications reinforces its importance within the global resources sector.

The Solactive Copper Miners Index represents global companies involved in the copper industry. The index draws from the universe of the Solactive GBS Global Markets All Cap USD Index, applies liquidity requirements, and selects up to 30 eligible securities ranked by total market capitalisation.

Constituents are weighted by free-float market capitalisation with an individual cap of 7 per cent, and the index is rebalanced semi-annually in February and August. As of 8 September 2026, the NTR version of the index recorded a performance of 85.65 per cent over the preceding 360 days and 31.91 per cent year-to-date. Performance prior to the index’s live date of 7 July 2026 is based on back-tested index levels.

The ETF is listed on 15th September 2026 on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the tickers, 3014 (HKD) and 9014 (USD).

Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, says: “Copper has become increasingly relevant across some of the defining themes shaping global infrastructure, including electrification, renewable energy, electric mobility, and data centres. We are pleased to deepen our collaboration with Mirae Asset in Hong Kong through the Global X ETFs brand and provide a focused index solution that reflects the companies behind this important global industry.”

Dennis Fok, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, ETF, Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong) Limited, says: “Global X has long been at the forefront of commodity-linked investment solutions. We are delighted to bring this expertise to Hong Kong with the launch of the first copper-focused ETF trading in HKEX, which offers investors diversified access to the companies at the heart of global copper supply and marks a further extension of our commodity-linked product line-up.”
