ICBC UBS AM Launches ICBC UBS HK-Global Artificial Intelligence ETF

RELATED TOPICS

Solactive has announced its first collaboration with ICBC UBS Asset Management International (“ICBC UBS AM”) with the launch of the ICBC UBS HK-Global Artificial Intelligence ETF, tracking the Solactive G2 AI Economy Select Index.

The ETF is designed to provide investors with exposure to companies across the global artificial intelligence economy, combining eligible Hong Kong-listed companies with companies from the remaining global universe across core AI technologies and AI-enabling infrastructure.

Solactive writes that artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries through advances in computing power, software, data processing, digital infrastructure, and connectivity. As AI adoption expands, the associated ecosystem extends beyond individual technology segments to companies supplying the technologies and infrastructure supporting AI development.

The Solactive G2 AI Economy Select Index provides exposure to companies across the AI economy, spanning AI Core and AI-enabling infrastructure industries, including semiconductors, software, IT services, computer hardware, electronic components, data processing, telecommunications equipment, and internet retail. The index selects the 30 largest eligible Hong Kong-listed securities by free-float market capitalisation, with the highest-ranked securities from the remaining eligible universe selected until the index comprises 100 constituents, or fewer if fewer than 100 securities are eligible.

Constituents are weighted by free-float market capitalisation, with 62 per cent of the index allocated to eligible Hong Kong-listed securities and 38 per cent to the remaining universe, while individual constituent weights are capped at 15 per cent. The index is rebalanced semi-annually.

The ETF was listed on 30 September 2026 on Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) under the ticker code 3587.HK (HKD) / 83587.HK (RMB) / 41587.HK (USD).

Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, says: “We are pleased to mark our first collaboration with ICBC UBS through this launch. The AI economy is developing across a broad range of industries, encompassing both core technologies and the infrastructure that enables their growth. We are delighted to contribute our index expertise to this collaboration and look forward to building on our relationship with ICBC UBS.”

“Artificial intelligence is reshaping the global economy faster than any technology wave— driving productivity gains, transforming industries and reordering supply chains at a speed rarely seen in history. This ETF gives Hong Kong investors a single, efficient entry point to entire global AI value chain: China’s full AI stack — from internet platforms and chipmakers to AI applications and the digital infrastructure beneath them — and the United States’ cloud, semiconductor and foundation-model companies, together with the Asian and global supply chains that power them both.” Says Danielle LI, Head of Fixed Income and Quantitative Investment Department, ICBC UBS Asset Management (International).
