ETF Express US Awards 2023 winners announced

The Metropolitan Club in Manhattan saw the great and the good of the US ETF industry join together this week to celebrate another extraordinary year, with winners reflecting changes in the industry with new arrivals and firms that have survived the test of time.

We have published the winners who attended on the night, and you will see the full list of winners in the Awards special report expected over the coming week – keep an eye on our site. Many congratulations to all our winners.

ETF Express took on the challenge that the new T+1 legislation in the US will bring this week, with our new writer, Fiona Nicolson.

The switch is significant for ETFs globally and the impact of the changeover is expected to be far-reaching, Nicolson writes, quoting Antonette Kleiser of BBH: “It will have a ripple effect on many processes, which will impact all global asset managers and financial institutions – and ETFs in particular, because of primary and secondary market trading,” says Kleiser: “It creates the potential for settlement mismatches due to timing discrepancies,” she adds.

Last week’s report from BlackRock predicted that ETF savings plans are set to increase in Europe and lo, Nutmeg, the UK’s robo-adviser firm, launched a range of thematic portfolios based on ETFs.

James McManus, chief investment officer, Nutmeg, says: “Our thematic investment portfolios have been designed to provide customers with an opportunity to invest in those long-term trends that are shaping society and the economy, while also benefiting from a globally diversified approach.
